Steve grew up in a small town (population of 1,050) in Southwest Wisconsin where life consisted of basketball, baseball and running. He completed his first half marathon at the age of ten with his father and then took 22 years off before running his first and only marathon.
After high school, Steve studied at the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a degree in Communication Arts (Radio, TV and Film). His first job out of college was selling radio advertising at WJZQ/WLIP in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
From there, he made the transition to TV by joining WISC in May of 1992. He has held several positions within the company including Traffic Assistant, National Sales Manager and Director of TV Sales. Steve is currently the General Sales Manager, a position he has held since 2011.
Today, Steve is responsible for sales on WISC-TV, TVW (My Net) and Channel3000.com including all political sales at WISC-TV and all national political sales at WKBT in La Crosse, WI.
Steve completed the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Training in 2013. He is a member of the CBS Sales Advisory Council and the WISC-TV Editorial Board. He has completed the Leadership Greater Madison program and also the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association's Management Institute program.
Steve and his family try to attend as many Badger games as possible throughout the year. He and his wife, Tammie, have been married for 17 years have two boys, Drew and Charlie.
